FAMILY VENTURE RACING was formed in 1992 and consists of Tony Carlisle, Gwen Carlisle and Dana Hearn. Tony Carlisle brings to the team 30 years racing experience. Until June 1998 Tony has performed the duties of crew chief and driver. After turning the driver's seat over to Dana, he has taken on all the duties of crew chief. Gwen Carlisle has also been involved in racing for 20 years and performs the duties of Public Relations and safety.

Dana Hearn (daughter) began her racing career as a mechanic on the funny car at the age of 12 and has now taken on the duties as driver. Dana spent six years learning and performing all the mechanical duties involved in racing an Alcohol Funny Car. Her dedication and drive has kept her focused in her overall goal of becoming the first female Fuel Funny Car driver to reach speeds of 32- MPH. As an 18 year of female Alcohol Funny Car driver, Dana is currently the youngest of only three active female alcohol funny car drivers competing in NHRA and IHRA.

Dana obtained her NHRA license in June 1998. In August 1998 she made her IHRA debut appearance to an audience of 59,000 fans in Norwalk, Ohio. In September 1998 she appeared in her 1st NHRA Division Two Event in Montgomery Alabama where she qualified #5. In October 1998 Dana made her first NHRA National apperance and the Pennzoil Nationals where she qualified #7.

Family Venture Racing is currently working on their 1999 budget and schedule along with talking with potential sponsors for the 1999 season.
