![]() ADVERTISE ON DRAG RACING UNDERGROUND
Great web site, guys!! This is just what the little guy racer needs, a little recognition. My name is John Hill, and I race at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona. I run two different cars which I built and completely set up myself in the garage at home. The original Mopar Magic is a 1970 Cuda that I have been racing for 5 years now in the Team Firebird, Craftsman Centerline ET series. It is equipped with a mild 440 motor and torqueflite transmission. It is strictly a no-electronics, foot brake type race car and is totally fun to drive. The car is super consistent, and I have finished as high as third place in the year long points chase. Best run to date is 12.58 at 107mph. I have no need to go faster in this car because it is so consistent, I don't want to change anything. Plus, I now have Mopar Magic II. Mopar Magic II is the only 392 Hemi powered, NHRA legal Super Comp dragster in the nation (that I know of)! As you can imagine, everywhere we go, we draw a big crowd when people see that we are running the early Hemi. The car has just been completed with the help of Power Play in North Carolina, and Hot Heads in Apache Junction, AZ. The car has a torqueflite automatic that had to be specially adapted to the Hemi. The rear is a Strange Ford 9 inch. The car itself used to be a late 70s Top Fuel car owned by Lyle Fisher from Tucson, AZ. I hope you can print the pictures of my cars because I work really hard to run a clean, professional set up out of my garage. I'm a little guy racer who could use some recognition. Both cars a sponsored by my company, Absolute Audio Mobile Disc Jockey & Entertainment.
Keep up the good work!!
